The Hallyu Crashes the West Coast During KCON USA at Staples Center!

After a successful stop in the East, KCON USA returns back to where it all started in the Golden State!

KCON USA has already begun its takeover of our country! After a record-breaking attendance of 53,000 fans just last month for the KCON 2018 NY extravaganza of all things Hallyu, the West Coast has been patiently waiting for their chance to catch the Korean Wave! And that time has almost arrived, bringing the trademark half convention, half musical festival to the Staples Center on August 10th through August 12th.

KCON 2018 LAAs this annual Korean youth culture fandom event can trace its American roots to Los Angeles, we know that the recent East Coast KCON was just a trial run and many more record-breaking moments are ahead. Last year, more than 85,000 people attended KCON LA 2017. Judging by the rise in attendance on the East Coast, we are due for a record-shattering three days as well. This year’s event dedicated to celebrating the best in Korean entertainment, cuisine, and fashion will highlight the aspect of “Korean Beauty”, and include a special panel just for the LA event entitled “How K-pop Grew Beyond Niche.”

We know that KCON USA is a major global event. When the Korean Wave hits the western side of the world, fans from all over will be flocking to our area to have a chance experience this ever-growing culture on American soil. Thus, whether you are flying into town or a local of the area, the perfect complement to your KCON USA experience is booking a room with us at Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. Our convenient location next to the Hollywood Burbank Airport ensures that your experience will be comfortable and stress-free. Less than 20 miles from the KCON LA events, let the Marriott be your home base as you ride out the Korean Wave in luxurious comfort and style!

Like many of the Zoo’s nighttime events, Roaring Nights is strictly for the 21-and-up crowd, blending terrific tunes and treats with thoughtful thanks for supporting their global conservation efforts.

Roaring Nights at the L.A. ZooThe general specifics for all four Roaring Nights are similar. Friday, September 14 –DJ Richard Blade takes over the turntables bringing an 80’s flair to the Zoo that’s only heightened when Flashback Heart Attack hits the stage! Grab an Epic Taco and get down in the final Silent Disco of the year.

5 Reasons to Visit Dodger Stadium (Even If You Hate Sports)

The Boys of Summer are not the only reason to come out to Dodger Stadium this summer.

You don’t need to bleed blue to “watch” one of the many baseball games in LA this summer. The big league sluggers and hurlers will be on the diamond at Dodger Stadium, yet that’s only Reason #1 of why you should consider taking a trip to Chavez Ravine.

Dodger StadiumThere’s so much more to the culinary offerings at Dodger Stadium than the clichéd peanuts and cracker-jacks. We’d admit: having one of their illustrious “Dodger Dogs” is almost a rite of passage. But Reason #2 on our list is dedicated to the inventive fare that highlights the concession stands. One beloved stadium exclusive: the Cheet-O-Lote – a concoction of roasted sweet-corn, Cheetos, cheese, and chipotle lime!

If you’re watching your waistline, the promotional events throughout the season, and our Reason #3, are just as enjoyable. The July 4th Fireworks are always a homerun, but every Friday night at Dodger Stadium, fireworks light up the sky! Fans can even take a seat on the field and watch the show overhead.

Dodger Stadium is an iconic venue in its own right and the Dodger Stadium Tours are a behind-the-scenes experience that delights all ages, allowing childhood fantasies to come true. Sitting in the actual dugout is a highlight worthy of being our Reason #4 in itself!

But our final spot, and Reason #5, to take in one of the baseball games in LA this summer, is to enjoy being part of the crowd. The music, the chants… it’s easy to get caught up in the magic. And when you book a room with us at Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, it doesn’t have to end with the final out. Less than 20 miles away, walk off in victory by allowing our comfortable accommodations to end your experience in major-league style!

Have a Blast at the 92nd Annual AmericaFest!

The festive use of fireworks has origins that date back long before our nation’s founding in 1776. Yet on the first commemorative Independence Day in 1777, John Adams declared that the celebration of our freedom should be commemorated with “Pomp and Parade”.  We can safely say that this tradition is still going strong across our nation’s various July 4th celebrations. But for Californians, it doesn’t get any bigger or brighter than the 92nd Annual AmericaFest at the Rose Bowl Stadium!

AmericaFest proves that all July 4th celebrations are not created equal!

92nd Annual AmericaFestLast year, AmericaFest, the longest running Independence Day event in our nation, was attended by more than 75,000 people and packed with 2.5 tons of pyrotechnic power! Now for the 92nd consecutive year, the annual July 4th celebration at the Rose Bowl Stadium is guaranteed to be the areas can’t miss Independence Day event. Celebrate our nation’s birthday in style as AmericaFest promises to be a day of fun family events, amazing live entertainment, and of course, a big helping of firework “bombs bursting in air”. Be sure to get to the Rose Bowl Stadium early, as there are many summer activities to partake in leading up to the spectacular sundown showcase at 7:00 PM.

Where to Stay

While the twilight is still gleaming, skip the hassle of battling it out in the city’s notorious traffic conditions and stay with us at Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. Only a short distance away from the Rose Bowl Stadium, let our hotel end your star-spangled Independence Day in sparkling style in our recently renovated and luxuriously appointed accommodations.

Street Food Cinema: Movie Magic Under the Stars

Street Food Cinema is reinventing the old cliché of “dinner and a movie” for the 21st-century!

If you are searching for the ultimate summer film-going experience, look no further than attending Street Food Cinema. Since 2012, this blend of outdoor movies, amazing live musical entertainment and food trucks galore has been offering a modern version of the standard date night cliché of “dinner and a movie”.

So – which venue should you choose?

Street Food CinemaOne of the most popular for film buffs and foodies alike is Griffith Park. Audiences have already started to be captivated with their first entry in the 2018 Street Food Cinema schedule, a 30th Anniversary showing of The Land Before Time. But do not fear if you missed out on seeing Littlefoot search for the Great Valley, as the outdoor movies have just begun to light up the park this season.

You can learn to fly with the help of some pixie dust and “Peter Pan” or say ‘too-da-loo’ to Mrs. Doubtfire. The basketball season may be over in LA, but “Space Jam” will keep the cheers on the court, until the true king of the ‘court’ takes his throne in “The Lion King”. And the enchainment didn’t end with Tinker Bell’s dust, as “The Wizard of Oz” and cult classic “Practical Magic” bring a spellbinding close to the season.

The projector is rolling and the food trucks are a-waiting. So, bundle up, pick out your “chair” and get ready for some summertime movie magic! Yet there is even a better way to make this special night out a truly a memorable “dinner and a movie” experience… book a stay with us at Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. Whether you’re looking to continue the romance of your date night revelry or cap off the family fun with a spectacular sleepover we will make sure your night is truly unforgettable.
