The All-New Synthplex Expo Is Almost Here!

The inaugural edition of this highly-anticipated synth technology expo is taking place at our Burbank Convention Center this March!

Affectionately called “Synthapalooza” by its founders, the Synthplex Expo is almost here! Taking place at our Burbank Convention Center on Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, March 31, this festival, simply put, revolves around “all-things-synthesizer”. Part genre, part instrument, it would be hard to classify Synthplex as a standard convention, as there is so much in store for all who decide to attend.

Synthplex ExpoCreated by two life-long synthesizer enthusiasts, Michael Learmouth and Michael Lehmann Boddicker, this four-day expo will feature:

Educational and Technology Seminars.  Be sure to catch the Electronic Music History Seminar!

Masters’ Sessions with Industry Legends.  Even though the performances may be the most attended, the Question and Answer panels will give you the most insight into the genre and techniques from the musicians who play them.

Trade Show Exhibits. Showing off the latest technology that you can try out and then buy!

Hands-On Workshops.  For the true DIYers – build your own synth equipment!

Live Performances.  Over 20+ performances are planned throughout the four days!

Pop-Up Synth Museum.  A whole collection of synthesizers will be on display for you to experience hands-on.

Even if you don’t know a Moog Modular from a Mellotron, all music lovers will find something to enjoy at this first of its kind event.  To fully complement your experience, be sure to book a room with us at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel.  We look forward to making magic musical memories with you soon!

The Ultimate Tinseltown Experience – Hollywood Studio Tours

Experience La La Land like never before by taking one (or all) of these exclusive Hollywood Studio Tours!

As we’re currently entrenched in “Movie Awards Season”, now is the perfect time to consider taking a behind-the-scenes look at where all of the magic you see on screen happens. For regular visitors to our area of the Golden State, you’re probably well-versed in the three official Hollywood Studio Tours that are open to the public. Yet for a slight refresher course, here are the basics:

Hollywood Studio ToursWarner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood – Get a glimpse at a true backstage studio experience. Iconic landmarks will be recognizable to any film fan, such as the iconic WB water tower, and the exhibits cater to fans of some of the most popular franchises in contemporary cinema (Batman and many other DC Superheroes and Harry Potter) You may even get a chance to see the set for the last season of The Big Bang Theory!

Paramount Studio Tour – With over a hundred years of history behind the walls of this studio, there’s a lot to see! While you will get a true intimate experience on the backlot of a working studio, that history is also on full display when you explore the new “Tour Center” and “Prop Warehouse” along with longstanding iconic filming locations that have always made up the bulk of the tour.

Sony Pictures Studio Tour – Very similar to its “Paramount” counterpart, this backstage experience is on a fully functioning studio. Yet this time, instead of catching a glimpse of the actors on the set of “This Is Us” or “NCIS”, you may spot the team of “The Goldbergs” or even Pat Sajak on his way to tape “Wheel of Fortune”!

After your trip through the magic of the movies, you’ll want a comfortable place to come back to your life “behind-the-scenes”. Book your room with us at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, conveniently located near all three iconic Hollywood landmarks.

Feel the Rhythm at the ASH Dance Convention

Join us for this unique dance convention on its California tour stop at the Burbank Convention Center this April.

Since the first event held in 2010, Artists Simply Human has had one goal: to bring together those with a love for dance from around the globe to share in their passion. Thus, the ASH Dance Convention was born and since has featured a one-of-a-kind faculty who are meant to motivate, inspire, energize, and renew your passion for dance.

ASH Dance ConventionThis year, the SoCal stop on the tour takes place on Friday, April 5 through Sunday, April 7 at our Burbank Convention Center. Each of the three days consists of workshop classes in various genres from Contemporary and Hip Hop to the more traditional Ballet and Tap. The dance convention concludes with special Performance Showcases, giving all of the dancers an opportunity to perform in a non-competitive environment while still receiving critiques from the renowned faculty members.

Stripping away the competitive aspect of similar conventions, ASH solely focuses its attention on the dancer and their own personal growth. This is achieved through, longer class times, smaller class sizes, Q&A sessions with faculty members, different levels for dancers ages 4 through professional, live webcasts of all performance showcases and monetary scholarships to continue pursuing your dreams.

Round off your ASH Dance Convention experience by staying with us at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel.  Experience the convenience and comfort of our accommodations, whether you are local or flying in through the nearby Hollywood Burbank Airport for the convention!

Calling All Robots in Disguise: Join Us for TFcon USA 2019!

Save the dates and join us for the world’s largest fan-run Transformers convention this March!

This long-running convention may have been founded in The Great White North, but in its 18th year, California is where you want to experience it first-hand! Why? We’re not being biased just because TFcon USA 2019 is taking place at our Burbank Convention Center. No, it’s because an event that has been 35 years in the making is “rolling out” … and only in Burbank!

Just as the organizers of the world’s largest fan-run Transformers convention have been slowly revealing their big surprise for the 35th Anniversary of the series, we’ll start you off with some basics. TransformersCon began in Canada in 2002 with an attendance that couldn’t even break 200! Now, TFcon is the most-attended convention honoring the series in the world! Since 2014, the organizers have taken the convention on the road with this year’s USA event taking place at the Burbank Convention Center on Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17.

TFcon USA 2019The event features the standard types of convention attractions line, Transformers merchandise for sale, guest Q&A panels, autograph sessions and fan contests and games!

Now, for the surprise – TFcon 2019 USA will feature a Generation One Reunion! To those who don’t know their Autobots from their Decepticons, this assembling of voice actors, comic book writers, artists, and toy designers that contributed to this fictional universe since 1984 is a once-in-a-lifetime happening! The names that have been announced thus far, including Jerry Houser – the original voice of Junkyard, Sandstorm, and Sweep in his first-ever convention, have fans counting the days until March 15!

There’s “more than meets the eye” to this three-day event! Whether you’re local or flying in through the nearby Hollywood Burbank Airport, you’ll want a convenient place to “roll out” from. As hosts of TFcon, you’ll find no better home-base than the luxurious comfort of the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel!
