Running from May 15 through June 2, The Garry Marshall Theatre will be presenting the Tony-winning Broadway play Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill. Written by Lanie Robertson and starring renowned stage star Deidrie Henry, the play encapsulates the last four months of Billie Holiday’s life, full of searing performances of over a dozen musical numbers from her legendary catalog. For these musicals at The Garry Marshall Theatre, patrons should be aware that in addition to traditional theater seating, there will be limited on-stage seats available. As the show is set in a Philadelphia jazz bar in 1959, the staging allows for select audience members to feel as if they are part of the action with this VIP experience!

To be a part of the show, enjoying the humor and timeless music of Billie Holiday right from the stage, you must be 21 or older to reserve your VIP tickets. Port Charles Invades Burbank at the General Hospital Convention

The 3rd Annual General Hospital Convention is returning to Burbank, California this June!

Paging all General Hospital superfans! You’re needed in Burbank, California… STAT! Why you may ask? Well, if you’ve been a part of the first two General Hospital Conventions that have taken place at the Burbank Convention Center you need no further convincing. But for the GH Convention neophytes, we have put together a quick rundown of the Five Ws of this three-day extravaganza to get you ready to take a trip to Port Charles with us for a weekend!

General Hospital ConventionWho – Hosted by Laura Wright (“Carly Corinthos”), the entire weekend will be full of events featuring a venerable “who’s who” of Port Charles residents from the entire 55 years of this beloved series. From the other half of the supercouple, Carly and Sonny, Maurice Benard, who still captivates audiences today, to Genie Francis, the true originator of this term in soap opera lore as “Laura Webber”, many of your favorite actors will be on hand all weekend long for panels, signings, and photo-ops!

What – There are a variety of events throughout the three days of the convention. Set tours, a Friday night Karaoke party, the aforementioned panels and signings, and a variety of vendors will populate the Convention Center, ensuring that each and every attendee will get a truly memorable experience.

When – Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9, 2019. Actual times of panels and signings will be announced closer to the event.

2019 Starlight Bowl Concert Series

It must almost be summer as the dates and performers for this year’s slate of summer Burbank concerts have been announced!

For almost thirty years, the Burbank Starlight Bowl has brought a variety of vibrant performances and local community programming to our area of the Golden State. Evening summer concerts have become a staple for many locals of the city of Burbank, but also provide a great reason to come into town and see a show. The schedule for this year’s shows has just been announced, making it the perfect time to start planning what concerts you wish to attend:

Starlight BowlBig Bad Voodoo Daddy / Rumble King on July 4.  “An American Celebration” featuring two acts performing tunes in the style of music made famous in the good ol’ U.S. of A – swing! 

Karla Perez / Bandidos de Amor on July 13.  “Latin Night under the Stars” with a special celebration in the honor of the memory of the Queen of Tejano music, Selena.

The Fab Four / The Answer on July 20.  “Back together by popular demand”, this double bill of tribute acts will serenade you with hits from The Beatles and rock out with true classic rock anthems.

Yachtley Crew / Graceband on July 27.  This exciting double bill pairs the “Titans of Soft Rock” with “The King” whose rocking tunes will be accompanied by a world-class laser light show!

Which One’s Pink / The Neil Deal on August 3.  Another week, another noteworthy double bill featuring the progressive tunes of Pink Floyd and the rocking Americana standards of Neil Young!

John Waite / Venice on August 10. The series finale of another show-stopping season at the Starlight Bowl!
